Throttle Position Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE: TP sensor requires adjustment after replacement. See ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  1. Disconnect TP sensor harness connector. Measure resistance between TP sensor terminals No. 1 and 4. See Figure . Resistance should be 3500-6500 ohms.
  2. Measure resistance between TP sensor terminals No. 1 and 3. Monitor resistance while slowly opening throttle valve. Resistance should change smoothly in proportion to throttle valve movement. Replace TP sensor if resistance is not as specified. See REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
