Dual Pressure Switch Circuit

NOTE:
Likely cause for failure may be faulty dual pressure switch circuit or PCM.
- Test dual pressure switch. See DUAL PRESSURE SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace if necessary. See DUAL PRESSURE SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If dual pressure switch is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect 28-pin PCM harness connector. See Figure . Turn ignition and A/C switch on. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between ground and A/C compressor load signal circuit at PCM harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If battery voltage is present, go to step 4 . If battery voltage is not present, go to next step.
- Check A/C system operation. See appropriate A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article in AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING. Repair as necessary.
- Check condition of 28-pin PCM harness connector and 18-pin joint connector (containing A/C compressor load signal circuit) located under right side of instrument panel. Repair as necessary. If connectors are okay, recheck for symptoms. If symptoms are still present, replace PCM. See appropriate REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
