Test 11A: Orc, Cluster Message Mismatch (Active Code)

NOTE:
Prior to performing any air bag system test, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
under DIAGNOSTICS. Perform TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST
after all repairs unless otherwise directed.
- Connect DRB to DLC. Turn ignition switch to ON position. On DRB, ensure PCI Bus is communicating with instrument cluster. If DRB displays INSTRUMENT CLUSTER COMMUNICATING ON THE PCI BUS, go to next step. If DRB does not display INSTRUMENT CLUSTER COMMUNICATING ON THE PCI BUS, diagnose instrument cluster bus malfunction.
- On DRB, select PASSIVE RESTRAINTS, AIRBAG, MONITOR DISPLAY and WARNING LAMP STATUS. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Turn ignition switch to ON position and observe DRB screen after 6-8 seconds. If DRB LAMP ON BY MIC and LAMP REQ BY ORC monitors match and no other malfunctions are detected, replace ORC. See OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If DRB LAMP ON BY MIC and LAMP REQ BY ORC monitors DO NOT match, replace instrument cluster and perform body verification test.
