Test 29A: Orc, Calibration Mismatch (Active Code)

NOTE: Prior to performing any air bag system test, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  under DIAGNOSTICS. Perform TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST  after all repairs unless otherwise directed.
  1. Use this procedure to diagnose the following active DTC s:
    • ORC, CALIBRATION MISMATCH
    • ORC, NO ODOMETER MESSAGE
    • ORC, VEHICLE BODY STYLE UNKNOWN
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect DRB to DLC. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using DRB, select ENGINE MISCELLANEOUS, MISC FUNCTION and CHECK VIN. If VIN displayed on DRB match VIN plate on vehicle, go to next step. If VIN displayed on DRB does not match VIN plate on vehicle, replace PCM and using DRB, program proper VIN into NEW PCM. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Using DRB, select PASSIVE RESTRAINTS, AIRBAG and SYSTEM TEST. If DRB displays PCM ACTIVE ON THE BUS and no other malfunctions are detected, replace ORC. See OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If DRB does not display PCM ACTIVE ON THE BUS, diagnose PCM and-or PCM bus circuit malfunction.
