Test 24A: Orc, Warning Indicator Circuit Open (Active Code)
NOTE:
Prior to performing any air bag system test, go to PRETEST INSPECTION & DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
under DIAGNOSTICS. Perform TEST VER-1: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST
after all repairs unless otherwise directed.
- Use this procedure to diagnose the following active DTC s:
- ORC, WARNING INDICATOR CIRCUIT OPEN
- ORC, WARNING INDICATOR CIRCUIT SHORT
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Read odometer display on instrument cluster. If odometer display reads NO BUS, diagnose instrument cluster bus malfunction. If odometer display does not read NO BUS, go to next step.
- Using DRB, select PASSIVE RESTRAINTS, AIRBAG and MONITOR DISPLAY. View WARNING LAMP MONITOR and select LAMP STATUS. If DRB displays LAMP STATUS: OK, and no other malfunctions are detected, replace ORC. See OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If DRB displays LAMP STATUS: OPEN or LAMP STATUS: SHORTED, replace instrument cluster circuit board . See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
