Test 51E - AUTOSTICK Sensor Circuit
NOTE:
Perform TEST 51A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect autostick switch connector at base of lever. Use scan tool in voltmeter mode. Measure voltage at terminal No. 3 on switch connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace autostick switch. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to next step.
- Disconnect Transmission Control Module (TCM) connector. Use external ohmmeter. Measure resistance between terminal No. 44 on TCM connector and terminal No. 3 on autostick connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace TCM. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open downshift sense circuit.
