Test 41B - Intermittent Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) Circuit

NOTE: Perform TEST 4A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect TRS connector. Disconnect Transmission Control Module (TCM) connector. Using external ohmmeter, check continuity of circuits between TRS and TCM. See the TRS-TO-TCM CIRCUITS  . Wiggle applicable wires at both connectors.
  2. If ohmmeter displays intermittent continuity, inspect and repair circuit as needed. Go to TEST 4A  . If continuity does not change, replace TRS. Go to TEST 4A  .
