Test 41B - Intermittent Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) Circuit
NOTE:
Perform TEST 4A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect TRS connector. Disconnect Transmission Control Module (TCM) connector. Using external ohmmeter, check continuity of circuits between TRS and TCM. See the TRS-TO-TCM CIRCUITS . Wiggle applicable wires at both connectors.
- If ohmmeter displays intermittent continuity, inspect and repair circuit as needed. Go to TEST 4A . If continuity does not change, replace TRS. Go to TEST 4A .
