Removal & Installation: Engine: Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Lubricate male end of quick connect/disconnect fuel line fittings with clean motor oil. Push fuel line fittings until a click is heard. Align and install engine mounts. DO NOT tighten mounting bolts until all mounting brackets and bolts have been installed. Check axle shaft length with damper weight removed. See Fig 1 .
  2. Right and left axle shaft lengths must be 7.4-7.7" (188-196 mm). If axle shaft length requires adjustment, support engine/transaxle assembly using a floor jack. Loosen vertical bolts on engine mount near timing belt cover and front engine mount bracket-to-front crossmember bolts. Pry engine right or left as required to obtain correct axle shaft length.
NOTE: To fill and bleed cooling system, remove engine temperature sending unit, located in front of thermostat housing. Fill system until coolant reaches hole. Install sending unit and tighten to 60 INCH lbs. (7 N.m). Finish filling cooling system.
  3. Tighten mounting bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Recheck axle shaft length. Install damper weight (if equipped) and tighten to specification. Fill cooling system.
