Circuit Test (Except LeBaron Sedan)

  1. Locate body control computer Black connector behind right kick panel. Using ohmmeter connected to ground, backprobe pin No. 18 (Dark Blue or Dark Blue/Yellow wire) of Black connector. See Figure . Position sending unit float to FULL position.
  2. Correct reading should be within 4 ohms of specification. See FUEL SENDING UNIT CALIBRATION  . If reading is infinity, there is open in wiring circuit between sending unit connector and body control computer Black connector. Repair as required.
  3. If reading is within specification, reposition sending unit as specified and check resistances to match table. If resistance readings match table, test body control computer. See appropriate TESTS W/CODES - BODY CONTROL COMPUTER article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  4. If resistance readings do not match table, locate short in wiring circuit to sending unit. Repair as required. If wiring circuit is good, replace sending unit.
