Installation Procedure

    With the aid of an assistant, position the instrument panel tie bar assembly into the vehicle. (1)

  2. Install the instrument panel wiring harness to the position noted in the removal procedure.
  3. Position the wiring harness.

    CAUTION:

    Fastener Caution

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt - Left Side (1) @ Body Hinge Pillar Inner Panel - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications 

  5. Install the caps.

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt - Right Side (1) @ Body Hinge Pillar Inner Panel - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt (1) @ Plenum Lower Panel - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Connect the electrical connectors. (1)

  11. Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Install [2x]

    Instrument Panel Wiring Harness Ground Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications 

  13. Connect the electrical connectors. (2)

    Steering Column Assembly (2) - Install

    Connect the electrical connector. (1)

  25. {If equipped} Connect the electrical connector. (2)

    Swing up the steering column (3) to the correct position.

  27. Steering Column Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  28. Steering Column Lower Support Bracket Bolt (2) - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

  37. Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Floor Front Air Outlet Duct - Left Side (2) - Install

    Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Deflector (2) - Install

  41. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Heater and Air Conditioning Remote Control Bracket (2) - Install

  43. Connect the electrical connectors.
  44. Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Windshield Wiper System Module Shield (1) - Install

    Air Inlet Grille Panel (2) - Install

    1. Install the air inlet grille panel (2) between both hood hinges.
    2. Connect the windshield washer nozzle hose to the windshield washer pump hose.
    3. Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Install [8x]

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]

    1. Install the air inlet grille panel extension (1).
    2. Remove the masking tape from the top edge of the service part.
    3. Using a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and clean drinkable water with a clean towel, remove any left over adhesive residue from the masking tape.

    Front Fender Rear Air Inlet Seal - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]

    1. Front Fender Rear Air Inlet Seal (2) - Install [2x]
    2. Front Fender Rear Air Inlet Seal Retainer (1) - Install [2x]

    Windshield Wiper Arm - Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install [2x]

    1. Clean the windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft splines with a soft wire brush before installing the windshield wiper arm (3).
    2. Position the windshield wiper arm (3) on the windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft.
    3. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
    4. Windshield Wiper Arm Finish Cap (1) - Install

    If required, realign the windshield wipers to their respective alignment circles (1) on the windshield.

    1. Lubricate the windshield with clean washer fluid.
    2. Run the windshield wipers for two complete cycles then turn off the windshield wipers.
    3. Ensure the windshield wipers are in the full park position.
    4. Inspect the windshield wipers for proper position to the alignment circles (1) on the windshield.

    Instrument Panel Assembly (1) - Install - Instrument Panel Removal and Installation (UDC) , or Instrument Panel Removal and Installation (URO)

    NOTE:

    With the aid of an assistant, install the front side door (3).

  53. Align the door hinges with the markings made with the grease pencil.
  54. Front Side Door Hinge Bolt - Door Side - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [8x] - Fastener Specifications
  55. If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Remove loose debris from internal and external threads using compressed air.
    4. Apply liquid thread locking adhesive in a strip along half of the length of the external threads, starting at the tip, just prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (except US, Canada) , or Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (US, Canada)
  56. Front Side Door Check Link Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    NOTE:

    Connect the front side door wiring harness (1) electrical connectors.

  58. Inspect the door for proper operation and alignment.
  59. If necessary, adjust the front side door. Front Side Door Adjustment
