Torque Converter Installation and Holding Fixture Removal

1	Automatic Transmission Case Procedure Rotate the transmission so that the fluid pan is down. Special Tools DT-03289-20 Holding Fixture Base Assembly DT-48989 Holding Fixture Equivalent regional tools: Special Tools
2	Torque Converter Procedure Rotate the transmission so that the converter housing is facing upwards. NOTE: If the holding strap does not fit as shown, then the converter is not fully installed. After installing the torque converter, install the holding strap. After transmission has been removed from the holding fixture, install the Transmission Housing Sound Insulator. Procedure

NOTE:

If the holding strap does not fit as shown, then the converter is not fully installed.

After installing the torque converter, install the holding strap.
After transmission has been removed from the holding fixture, install the Transmission Housing Sound Insulator. Transmission Housing Sound Insulator Replacement (LGX) , or Transmission Housing Sound Insulator Replacement (LT1, LT4)
