Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
Due to transmission fluid pump chain tension, the control valve assembly and fluid pump sprocket must be installed simultaneously.
Install the transmission fluid pump driven sprocket (1) onto the chain then position the sprocket and control valve body then loosely install the control valve assembly. Control Valve Assembly and Transmission Wiring Harness Installation .
- Using a suitable pry tool, lock the retainer (2).
- NOTE:
Before installing the control valve solenoid body onto the transmission, document the 16-digit Part Unique Number (PUN). If the control valve solenoid body PUN has not been saved for reference, it may be necessary to disassemble the control valve solenoid body from the transmission to clearly read the control valve solenoid body PUN.
Complete the installation of the control valve body assembly (4). Control Valve Assembly and Transmission Wiring Harness Installation
Install the transmission control wiring harness (4). Transmission Control Wiring Harness Replacement
Connect the manual valve (1) to the manual shift shaft position switch assembly linkage (2).
- Return the spring (2) to it's correct position.
Install the manual shaft detent lever spring (2) and the manual shaft detent lever spring retaining bolt (1) then tighten to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
Install the transmission fluid baffle, then install the 2 NEW fluid baffle bolts. Transmission Fluid Baffle Replacement
Install the transmission fluid filter (4). Automatic Transmission Fluid, Fluid Pan and/or Filter Replacement
