Removal Procedure

- Remove the exhaust muffler. Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LGX, Coupe) , or Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LGX, Convertible) , or Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LT1, LT4, Coupe) , or Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LT1, LT4, Convertible)
If equipped, remove the underbody rear brace (2). Underbody Rear Brace Replacement (Convertible)
- Remove the automatic transmission range selector lever cable from the transmission. Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement
- Remove the control valve body. Control Valve Body Replacement
Remove the transmission mount (4). Transmission Mount Replacement
- Lower the rear of the transmission until there is enough clearance to remove the manual shift shaft.
Remove and DISCARD the manual shift shaft pin (1).
Remove the manual shift shaft (1).
