Installation Procedure

- NOTE:
Ensure the automatic transmission fluid pump seal is in the control valve body.
Control Valve Body Assembly (1) - Install
- Install the control valve body assembly into the case.
- Connect the main control wiring harness connector as shown.
- Park Inhibitor Solenoid (2) - Install
Clean the bolt holes and ensure they are free from any old sealant. Allow to dry before installing NEW bolts.
- Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt (1) - Install and tighten in sequence [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt (2) Install NEW and tighten in sequence [3x] - Fastener Specifications
- Control Valve Solenoid Body Bolt (3) Install and tighten in sequence [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump Seal (1) - Install NEW
- Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump Outlet Pipe Seal (2) - Install NEW
- Automatic Transmission Auxiliary Fluid Pump Outlet Pipe (3) - Install
- Control Valve Upper Body Bolt (4) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter (2) - Install - Automatic Transmission Fluid, Fluid Pan and/or Filter Replacement
- Remove the drain pan.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Fill the transmission to the proper level with NEW transmission fluid. Transmission Fluid Level and Condition Check
- Perform the solenoid valve characterization reprogramming procedure. Q77 Transmission Control Solenoid Valve Characterization Programming (8L45) , or Q77 Transmission Control Solenoid Valve Characterization Programming (10L60, 10L80)
NOTE:
The locating pins on the bottom of the control valve body assembly will hold the control valve body assembly in place while installing bolts.
NOTE:
Ensure the wiring harness is not pinched anywhere after valve body installation.
