Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Clean all sealing surfaces.
  2. Spray Low LOC brake cleaner on the LCE sealing surface and wipe off with a clean shop towel. Avoided touching the surface after cleaning and air dry with shop air. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
  3. Wipe the oil pan surface with the Adhesion Plastic Pan Primer Promoter Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers  with a clean shop towel. Allow the cleaner to flash / evaporate. Wipe off the sealing surfaces with a lint free cloth. Do not touch the sealing surface after cleaning to avoid inducing containment debris to the bonding surface area.
  4. Ensure proper use of room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealant. Use of Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) and Anaerobic Sealant

    Apply approximately a 4 mm (0.16 in) thick bead of sealant (1) to the lower oil pan. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 

  6. Install EN-52483  Guide Pin in two locations to keep oil pan square.

    NOTE:
    • The engine block lower structural extension surface must be free of contamination prior to applying the sealer.
    • Install and align the oil pan to the block within 10 minutes after applying the sealer.
    • The oil pan must be fastened to final torque specification within 15 minutes after applying the sealer.

    Lower Oil Pan (1) - Install

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Lower Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Install [18x]

  9. Lower Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Tighten in sequence [18x] 8.5 N.m (75 lb in)
  10. Water Pump - Install - Electric Engine Coolant Pump Replacement
  11. Front Cradle Brace - Install - Front Cradle Brace Replacement
  12. Remove and DISCARD the oil filter.
  13. Change the engine oil and filter. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
