Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install the transmission to the engine. Transmission Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)
  2. Position the powertrain and support table under the vehicle.
  3. Raise the support table to move the powertrain into it's installed position.
  4. Transmission Mount - Install - Transmission Mount Replacement (Left)
  5. Engine Mount - Install - Engine Mount Replacement

    Propulsion System Lift Table - Remove - Propulsion System Lift Table 

  7. Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft-Right Side - Install - Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side (LSY with FWD)
  8. Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft-Left Side - Install - Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side
  9. Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle - Install - Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (FWD)
  10. Reposition the engine wiring harness.

    Engine Wiring Harness (1) @ Body Wiring Harness (2) - Connect

    Engine Wiring Harness (1) @ Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block - Connect - Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block Replacement

  13. Transmission Control Module - Connect - Transmission Control Module Replacement

    Engine Wiring Harness Connector (1) @ Cooling Fan - Connect

    Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (3) - Install [2x]

  16. Engine Wiring Harness Connector (2) @ Air Conditioning Refrigerant Pressure Sensor - Connect
  17. Engine Wiring Harness Connector (1) @ Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor - Connect

    Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable (4) @ Automatic Transmission - Connect - Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement

  19. Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose @ Air Conditioning Compressor - Connect - Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Replacement (LSY)
  20. Radiator Outlet Hose - Install - Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LSY)
  21. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose - Install - Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement

    Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube (3) - Install - Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube Replacement

  23. Radiator Inlet Hose - Install - Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LSY)
  24. Heater Outlet Hose @ Heater Core - Connect - Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LSY)
  25. Heater Inlet Hose @ Heater Core - Connect - Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LSY)
  26. Heater Outlet Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank - Connect - Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LSY)

    Evaporative Emission Front Pipe (1) @ Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Hose - Connect - Evaporative Emission Pipe Replacement (FWD)

  28. Fuel Feed Pipe @ Fuel Feed Front Pipe - Connect - Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (FWD)
  29. Battery Tray - Install - Battery Tray Replacement

    Air Cleaner Assembly (1) - Install - Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement

  31. Recharge the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a) , or Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)
  32. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static LSY) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716 LSY)
  33. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  34. NOTE:

    Prelube is necessary if the engine is replaced or overhauled.

  35. If the engine is replaced with a new engine or has been overhauled, perform the engine prelubing procedure. Engine Prelubing 
  36. If the engine has not been replaced or overhauled, check and correct engine oil level as needed. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement 
  37. Perform the crankshaft position variation learn procedure. Crankshaft Position Variation Learn
  38. Perform the throttle learn procedure. Throttle Body Idle Air Flow Compensation Reset
