Removal Procedure
WARNING:
- Apply and release the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to deplete the power brake booster vacuum reserve.
- Without disconnecting the hoses, remove and position aside the radiator surge tank. - Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LCV) , or Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LGX) , or Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LSY)
- Remove and properly dispose of the brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir.
- Brake Fluid Level Indicator Switch Electrical Connector - Disconnect
Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect
- Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Rear Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect
- Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Brake Master Cylinder Nut (1) - Remove and DISCARD [2x]
Brake Master Cylinder Assembly (1) - Remove
Brake Master Cylinder Gasket (1) - Remove and DISCARD
- Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir - Remove - Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement (without JEO) , or Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement (with JEO)
