Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Replacement: Notes

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the appropriate intake air splash shield:
   • For LGX engine refer to Intake Air Splash Shield Replacement .
   • For LCV engine refer to Intake Air Splash Shield Replacement .

   Disconnect the cable end retainer (1) from the latch.

3. Release the hood primary latch release cable from the retainer (2).

   Disconnect the hood primary latch release cable (2) from the retainer (1) from under the upper tie bar.

   Disconnect the hood primary latch release cable (1) from the retainer (2) under the radiator surge tank.

   Disconnect the hood primary latch release cable end retainer (1) from the inside handle.

   Disconnect the hood primary latch release cable grommet (1) from the dash panel.

8. Attach mechanics wire to the hood primary latch release cable (2) and pull the cable out.
