Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .

  1. Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)
  2. Exhaust Heat Shield - Remove - Exhaust Heat Shield Replacement (LKN) 
  3. Exhaust Front Pipe@Exhaust Heat Exchanger - Disconnect - Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LKN)

    Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  5. Fuel Heater Outlet Hose (2) - Disconnect
  6. Fuel Heater Inlet Hose (3) - Disconnect
  7. Disconnect the exhaust control valve actuator electrical wiring harness connector. (4)

    Exhaust Heat Exchanger Bracket Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

    Exhaust Heat Exchanger Bracket Nut (1) - Loosen [2x]

  10. Catalytic Converter Nut (2) - Remove [2x]
  11. Exhaust Heat Exchanger (3) - Remove
  12. Catalytic Converter Gasket (4) - Remove and DISCARD
