Installation Procedure

Position the transmission under the vehicle.
Raise the transmission with the transmission jack and position the transmission to the engine.

Fastener Caution

Transmission Converter Cover (2) - Install
Install the 4 transmission bolts (1) and tighten to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).
Remove the strap holding the transmission to the jack.
Remove the transmission jack.
Align the mark of the flywheel to the mark on the torque converter for reassembly.

Install the NEW torque converter bolts (1) and tighten to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).
Starter - Install - Starter Replacement (LFV)

Install the ground wire bolt (1) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
Lower the vehicle.
Connect the transmission wiring harness pass-through solenoid electrical connector.
Reposition the underhood wire harness to it's original position.
Install the left transmission mount to the transmission. Transmission Mount Replacement (Left Side)

Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket-Lower LFV - Install - Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Replacement (Lower LFV) , or Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Replacement (Upper LFV)
Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket-Upper LFV - Install - Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Replacement (Lower LFV) , or Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Replacement (Upper LFV)
Install the heater coolant pump. Heater Coolant Pump Replacement (LFV) , or Heater Coolant Pump Replacement (LFV with MRG)

Connect the right wheel drive shaft to the transmission. Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (LFV)
Connect the left wheel drive shaft to the transmission. Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side (MRG)
Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle - Install - Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (LFV)
Engine Support Fixture - Remove - Engine Support Fixture

Connect the electrical connector (1).

Install the battery negative cable (1) to the transmission. Battery Negative Cable Replacement (LFV)

Install the transmission bolt (1) and tighten to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).
Install the transmission stud (2) and tighten to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).
Install the starter generator battery cable to the retainer on the transmission stud.
Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe @ Transmission - Install - Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (LFV with MRG (at the air conditioning condenser bracket)) , or Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (LFV with MRG (from the transmission to the transmission fluid cooler inlet pipe))
Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe @ Transmission - Install - Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (LFV with MRG)

Install the range selector lever cable (4) to the range selector lever cable lever.
Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
Depress the cable adjustment retainer (3) locking the retainer completely.
Slide the retainer lock (2) rearward to cover the cable adjustment retainer (3).

Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube (3) - Install - Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement
Engine Control Module - Install - Engine Control Module Replacement
Transmission Fluid - Fill - Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill
Install the battery tray. Battery Tray Replacement (LFV)
After repairs, refer to Control Module References for programming and set up procedures.
Reprogram the performance characteristics data for the solenoid valves. Solenoid Valve Characterization Reprogramming
Road test the vehicle.
