Removal Procedure

- Remove the battery tray. Battery Tray Replacement (LFV)
- Drain the transmission fluid. Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill
Radiator Inlet Hose (3) - Remove - Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LFV)
- Remove the charge air cooler outlet air tube. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler inlet pipe. Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (LFV with MRG (at the air conditioning condenser bracket)) , or Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (LFV with MRG (from the transmission to the transmission fluid cooler inlet pipe))
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler outlet pipe. Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (LFV with MRG)
- Disconnect the control valve body transmission control module electrical connector.
Remove the transmission control module bracket (2). Transmission Control Module Bracket Replacement
- Remove the battery negative cable from the transmission. Battery Negative Cable Replacement (LFV)
Control Valve Body Cover Stud (1) - Remove [8x]
- Control Valve Body Cover Bolt (2) - Remove [4x]
Control Valve Body Cover (1) - Remove
- Control Valve Body Cover Seal (2) - Remove
- Control Valve Body Cover Wiring Connector Hole Seal (3) - Remove and DISCARD
- Remove all traces of the old gasket material. Clean the transmission case and control valve body cover gasket surfaces.
CAUTION:
Support the control solenoid valve assembly around the connector when removing the seal. Excessive pulling force can damage the internal electrical connections.
