Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Installation

EN-652 Flywheel Holder
EN-45059 Angel Meter

Clean the 8 crankshaft threads.

Install the crankshaft position reluctor ring (1).

Apply thread lock agent to the 8 NEW bolts (1). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
Install the automatic transmission flex plate (2).

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Loosely install the 8 NEW automatic transmission flex plate bolts (1).

Install the EN-652 holder (2), lock the automatic transmission flex plate via the starter ring gear.

CAUTION:
Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

Tighten the 8 NEW automatic transmission flex plate bolts (1) in the sequence as shown.
1. First Pass: 30 N.m (22 lb ft),
2. Final Pass:70 degress - EN-45059 Meter
Remove the EN-652 holder.
