Front Side Door Trim Replacement

Preliminary Procedure 
Remove the front side door accessory switch mount plate. Refer to Front Side Door Accessory Switch Mount Plate Replacement .
1 Front Side Door Inside Handle Bolt Finish Cap
NOTE:

Use a suitable tool, place the tool between the notch located at the lower rear edge of the door handle cap and the door handle. Turn the suitable tool clockwise releasing the door handle cap, exposing the handle fastener.

2 Front Side Door Inside Handle Fastener
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

3 Front Side Door Pull Cup Liner
4 Front Side Door Armrest Pull Cup Fastener (Qty: 2)
5 Front Side Door Trim Assembly

Procedure

  1. Start the door trim removal process by removing the fasteners at the front side of the door trim first.
  2. Pull outward at the top of the trim panel to disengage the upper retainers.
  3. Use the appropriate plastic trim tool to aid in the removal of the door trim.
  4. Pull upwards on the door lock retainer cable to disengage.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
6 Front Side Door Trim High-Retention Retainer (Qty: 2)
NOTE:
  • The two high-retention retainers at the upper rear edge of the door trim will be destroyed during removal. It will require more than 67 pound feet of force to remove the fasteners, breaking them in the process.
  • The lower high-retention fastener fits into a hole in the door frame and should be installed after the upper retainer is correctly located in the slot. Then reinsert the rest of the fasteners on the door trim moving from the rear to the front.
  • The high-retention retainers that are destroyed during removal must be replaced with new high-retention retainers to properly reattach the door trim.
7 Front Side Door Trim Belt Line Clips (Qty: 5)
NOTE:

Make sure the belt line clips are replaced with new clips before re-attaching the door trim, even if they weren't damaged.
