Bearing Selection
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
There are 3 methods to determine the correct replacement bearing size.
- Connecting Rod Bearing Grade Chart Method uses production markings on the crankshaft and the connecting rod to determine original bearing size.
- Micrometer method uses measurements of the crankshaft rod bearing journal and the connecting rod large end bore to determine the correct bearing size.
- Plastic gauging method is a way to verify the bearing clearance once the bearings are installed.
