Installation Procedure

If replacing the cylinder head, transfer all parts as necessary. Cylinder Head Assemble .

Swap the cylinder head alignment pins (1) from the cylinder head to engine block as needed.
Clean all sealing surfaces.

NOTE:
Do not use any sealing material.

Select the correct cylinder head gasket (2). Cylinder Head Gasket Selection
Cylinder Head Gasket (2) - Install NEW
Cylinder Head (1) - Install

NOTE:
Install NEW bolts.

Cylinder Head Bolt (1) - Loosely install [10x]

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

CAUTION:
This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.

Tighten
1. First Pass 30 N.m (22 lb ft)
2. Second Pass using J 45059 meter, tighten the bolts in sequence an additional 110 degrees
3. Third Pass using J 45059 meter, tighten the bolts in sequence an additional 110 degrees
4. Final Pass using J 45059 meter, tighten the bolts in sequence an additional 110 degrees

Engine Wiring Harness (2) - Reposition
Engine Wiring Harness Ground Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] 40 N.m (30 lb ft)
