Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Housing Installation

- EN-50026 Rear Main Seal Installer
- GE-8092 Driver Handle
For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools
- NOTE:
- The crankshaft rear oil seal must be installed with the cupped side of the seal facing the tool.
- The bottom edge of the crankshaft rear oil seal housing must hang off the edge of the bench to allow it to lay flat.
Install the NEW crankshaft rear oil seal (3) into the crankshaft rear oil seal housing (4) using the EN-50026 installer (2) and GE-8092 handle (1) until the seal bottoms out on the housing.
- NOTE:
If removed, install the crankshaft rear oil seal housing locating pin (5) and exciter ring locating pin (6).
NOTE:Lubricate the crankshaft sealing surface with engine oil. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Housing Gasket (4) - Install
- Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Housing (3) - Install
- Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Housing Bolt (2) - Loosely install[6x]
- Crankshaft Position Sensor Exciter Ring (1) - Install
- For ease of installation, hand start the rear oil seal housing bolts at the oil pan (5).
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Tighten the oil pan bolts. (1) 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown. 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
