Removal Procedure

WARNING:
High Pressure Lines deliver diesel fuel under extreme pressure from the injection pump to the fuel injectors. This may be as high as 1600 Bar (23, 200 psi). Use extreme caution when inspecting for high pressure leaks. Fuel under this amount of pressure can penetrate skin causing personal injury, or death. Wear safety goggles and adequate clothing when servicing this fuel system.
NOTE:
- High pressure fuel feed pipes are one time use only. ALWAYS install a NEW high pressure fuel feed pipe if the pipe is removed OR the fittings are loosened.
- If applicable, ALWAYS perform the fuel filter life reset after replacing the fuel filter.
- Turn OFF the engine for 30 seconds. This will completely purge the fuel pressure from the fuel system.
- Throttle Body - Remove - Throttle Body Assembly Replacement
- Engine Cover - Remove - Engine Cover Replacement
- Remove the water pump inlet pipe and reposition the hoses as necessary. Water Pump Inlet Pipe Replacement (LWN)
Remove the fuel feed pipe (1) from the clip (2).
- Remove the fuel feed pipe (1) from the fuel pump (3).
Remove the fuel feed pipe clip bolt (1).
- Remove the fuel feed pipe (2) from the clips (3).
Remove the fuel feed pipe (1) from the clip (2).
- Remove the fuel feed pipe (1) from the fuel injection fuel rail (3).
- Remove and DISCARD the fuel feed pipe (1).
