Fuel Pump Insulator and Fuel Feed Pipes Removal

    WARNING:

    The noise cancelling foam component MUST be replaced if it has been exposed to engine fluids. Failure to replace the noise cancelling foam component that has been exposed to engine fluids may result in an engine fire resulting in catastrophic engine damage, and possible injury or death.

    Remove the fuel pump insulator (1).

    Remove low pressure fuel feed pipe bolt to LH rocker cover bolt (4).

  3. Remove redundant clip (3). Remove low pressure fuel feed pipe (1) from the fuel pump (2).

    CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

    NOTE:
    • DO NOT reuse the high pressure fuel feed pipe.
    • The tighten ing order and torque are critical to proper fuel system fit and function. Be sure to follow installation and tighten ing steps exactly.

    Remove the high pressure fuel feed pipe that connects the fuel pump to the crossover pipe (1) by loosening the fuel feed pipe fittings (2).

    CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

    NOTE:
    • DO NOT reuse the high pressure fuel rail crossover pipe.
    • The tighten ing order and torque are critical to proper fuel system fit and function. Be sure to follow Installation and tighten ing steps exactly.

    Remove the high pressure LH to RH fuel rail crossover pipe bolt (3).

  6. Remove the fuel rail crossover pipe by loosening the pipe fittings (1 and 2).
