Removal Procedure

  1. Starter - Remove - Starter Replacement (LV1)

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    J 42386-A  Flywheel Holding Tool (1) - Install

    1. Bolt - M10 - 1.5 x 120 mm - Install and tighten 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
    2. Bolt - M10 - 1.5 x 45 mm - Install and tighten 50 N.m (37 lb ft)

    Camshaft Position Actuator Magnet (1) - Remove - Camshaft Position Actuator Magnet Replacement

    WARNING:

    Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Removal and Installation Warning .

    CAUTION:

    The camshaft position actuator solenoid valves must be kept parallel to the engine front cover during removal and installation. The camshaft position actuator solenoid valves can be damaged if they become wedged or stuck during this process.

    NOTE:

    The CPA solenoid valve must be Discarded and replaced with a NEW valve.
