Assembly Procedure

    Install the NEW steering gear pinion shaft bearing (2) until fully seated in the steering gear housing (1).

  2. Install the NEW steering gear pinion shaft seal (3) until fully seated in the steering gear housing (1).
  3. Install the NEW steering gear pitman shaft washer (4) until fully seated in the steering gear housing (1).
  4. Install the NEW steering gear pitman shaft seal retaining ring (5) until fully seated in the steering gear housing (1).
  5. Install the NEW steering gear pinion shaft dust seal (6) until fully seated in the steering gear housing (1).
  6. Install the pitman arm boot (7) until fully seated in the steering gear housing (1).

    Install the steering gear pitman shaft housing cover (3). Steering Gear Pitman Shaft Replacement

    Pitman Arm(3) - Install - Pitman Arm Replacement

  9. Adjust the steering gear pitman arm shaft over-center preload as necessary. Steering Gear Pitman Shaft Over-Center Preload Adjustment - Off Vehicle 
  10. Steering Gear - Install - Steering Gear Replacement (Without LWN) , or Steering Gear Replacement (With LWN)
