Removal Procedure

    Oil Filler Tube(4) - Remove - Oil Filler Tube Replacement

    Auxiliary Heater Inlet and Outlet Hose Clip Nut(1) - Remove

  3. Oil Level Indicator Tube Bracket Bolt(2) - Remove
  4. Oil Level Indicator Tube Bolt(3) - Remove
  5. Oil Filler Tube Bracket(4) - Remove
  6. Vacuum Pump Pipe - Remove - Vacuum Pump Pipe Replacement
  7. Fuel Injector Deadener - Remove - Fuel Injector Deadener Replacement
  8. Fuel Injector - Remove - Fuel Injector Replacement

    Generator Bracket(3) - Remove - Generator Bracket Replacement (Diesel)

  10. Camshaft Position Sensor - Remove - Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement
  11. Disconnect and reposition the coolant heater cord as needed. Coolant Heater Cord Replacement (LWN) , or Coolant Heater Cord Replacement (LV1)

    Electrical Connector(1) - Disconnect[3x]

  13. Wiring Harness Retainer(2) - Remove
  14. Auxiliary Heater Inlet and Outlet Hose Clip Nut(3, 4, 5) - Remove
  15. Reposition brackets (6) and wiring harness (7) as needed.

    Timing Belt Front Cover Bolt(1) - Remove[3x]

    NOTE:

    The valve rocker arm cover bolts and studs are retained in the rocker arm cover, fully loosen the bolts to disengage them from the cylinder head.

    Valve Rocker Arm Cover Bolt(1) - Loosen[8x]

  18. Valve Rocker Arm Cover Stud(2) - Loosen[10x]

    NOTE:

    Squeeze as indicated by the arrows to disengage then pull the PCV heater away from the air cleaner outlet duct.

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Heater(1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Ensure that the complete valve rocker arm cover gasket (2) is removed with the valve rocker arm cover.

    Valve Rocker Arm Cover(1) - Remove

    Valve Rocker Arm Cover Gasket(1, 2) - Remove and DISCARD

  22. Valve Rocker Arm Cover - Clean and inspect - Valve Rocker Arm Cover Cleaning and Inspection 
  23. Transfer components as necessary.
