Installation Procedure

NOTE:
Install a NEW gasket.

Timing Belt Front Cover Gasket(3) - Install
Timing Belt Front Cover(2) - Install

NOTE:

Hand tighten only, final tightening will be performed after properly aligning the timing belt front cover to the crankshaft sprocket.

Timing Belt Front Cover Bolt(1) - Loosely install[15x]

NOTE:
Start by ensuring there is proper clearance in the area of the arrows then confirm proper clearance throughout the crankshaft sprocket circumference.

Use a 0. 01 mm feeler gauge around crankshaft sprocket (1) to ensure timing belt front cover (2) is not contacting crank sprocket.

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

NOTE:
Once proper clearance is achieved between the timing belt front cover and the crankshaft sprocket, perform final tightening of the timing belt front cover bolts in sequence bolts 3 then bolts 4.

Timing Belt Front Cover Bolt(3) - Tighten[12x]10 N. m (89 lb in)
Timing Belt Front Cover Bolt(4) - Tighten[3x]8 N. m (71 lb in)
