Removal Procedure

Turn OFF the engine, for 30 seconds before proceeding. This will purge the fuel pressure from the complete fuel system.

Cover the oil filler tube opening to prevent dirt and debris from entering.

Radiator Inlet Hose (2) - Remove - Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LWN) , or Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LV1) , or Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (L96, LC8)

Radiator Outlet Hose(2) - Remove - Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LWN) , or Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LV1) , or Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (L96, LC8)

Generator Bracket(3) - Remove - Generator Bracket Replacement (Diesel)
Air Conditioning Compressor Bracket - Remove - Air Conditioning Compressor Bracket Replacement (LWN) , or Air Conditioning Compressor Bracket Replacement (L96, LC8) , or Air Conditioning Compressor Bracket Replacement (LV1)
Intake Manifold - Remove - Intake Manifold Replacement
Disconnect the electrical connectors and detach the wiring harness as necessary.

Remove the ground cable bolts (1) and reposition the wiring harness (2) as needed.

Water Pump Inlet Pipe(3) - Remove - Water Pump Inlet Pipe Replacement (LWN)
Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe - Remove - Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement (M5U) , or Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement (MYD)

Electrical Connector(1) - Disconnect

Reposition the electrical connector sleeve (1).

Battery Negative Cable(1) @ Engine Block - Remove - Battery Negative Cable Replacement (L96, LC8) , or Battery Negative Cable Replacement (LWN) , or Battery Negative Cable Replacement (LV1)
Fuel Pump Fuel Feed Hose - Remove - Fuel Pump Fuel Feed Hose Replacement
Fuel Pump Fuel Return Hose - Remove - Fuel Pump Fuel Return Hose Replacement
Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose - Remove - Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement (With LWN) , or Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement (Without LWN)
Transmission - Remove - Transmission Replacement (With LV1 Engine) , or Transmission Replacement (With LWN Engine)
Engine Coolant Fan Bracket - Remove - Engine Cooling Fan Bracket Replacement
Disconnect remaining electrical connectors, hoses and vacuum lines as necessary.
Engine Support Fixture - Install - Engine Support Fixture

Engine Mount Bracket-Left Side(2) - Remove - Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Left Side
Engine Mount-Right Side(2) - Remove - Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side
With the aid of an assistant, rotate and lower the engine out of the vehicle while maintaining proper clearance of the following.
- Frame
- Vacuum lines
- Oil cooler lines
- Wiring harness
- Coolant pipes and hoses
Transfer components as necessary.
