Cylinder Head Installation

J-45059 Angle Meter
Equivalent regional tools: Special Tools
- NOTE:
Do not use any sealing material.
Install the cylinder head alignment pins (4) and gasket (3) to the block.
- Install the cylinder head (2).
- Install the NEW cylinder head bolts (1) finger tight.
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
NOTE:Always use new cylinder head bolts.
Tighten the NEW cylinder head bolts:
- Tighten the NEW bolts in sequence to 30 N. m (22 lb ft)
- Using J-45059 meter, tighten the bolts in sequence an additional 110 degrees for the second, third, and final passes, for a total of 330 degrees.
CAUTION:
This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.
