Removal Procedure

Place the transmission in neutral.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Base) , or Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (ZL1) , or Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Convertible)
- Remove the propeller shaft (6). Refer to Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Coupe with M13, MH3, MJK, MM6) , or Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Convertible with M13, MH3, MJK, MM6)
Install the J 45012 holding fixture to the drive flange.
- While holding the J 45012 holding fixture, remove the flange nut using the J 29873 injector nozzle socket.
- Remove the J 45012 holding fixture.
Remove the drive flange thrust washer.
- Remove the drive flange using the J 45019 flange and pinion gauge remover.
Use the J 6125-1B slide hammer and J 23129 universal seal remover to remove the transmission case extension seal (1).
