Extension Housing Assembly Installation

Apply sealant to the top 2 extension housing bolts. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (MJK, MH3, or MM6)

NOTE:
Align the 5th/6th shift shaft to the extension housing bore in order to install the extension housing.

Install the extension housing gasket (6) and the extension housing (5).
Install the transmission tag bracket (3), brackets (4), bolts (1), and nuts (2). The cooler line bracket shown must be installed at an angle of 45 degrees (a) before tightening bolts.
Tighten to 48 N.m (36 lb ft).

Install the transmission gap magnet (1) and bolt (2). Tighten to 5 N.m (44 lb in)

Install the manual transmission gear position sensor gasket (3) and the manual transmission gear position sensor (2).

NOTE:

Only the 4 bolts from the sensor plate should have been removed. If the 2 bolts from the sensor were removed, then the assembly must be replaced.

Install the manual transmission gear position sensor bolts (1). Tighten to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

Install the propeller shaft transmission yoke (1).

Install the propeller shaft washer (2) and nut (1).
Use the DT-45012 pinion flange holder (3) and tighten the nut (1) to 136 N.m (100 lb ft)

Install the shifter cover plate (2) and gasket (1).
Install the shifter cover plate bolts (3) and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

Remove the DT-47678 transmission holding fixture (2) and DT-47678-10 transmission holding flange adapter.
Remove the DT-47678 transmission holding fixture and DT-47678-10 transmission holding flange adapter from DT-03289-20 holding fixture (1).
