Extension Cleaning and Inspection (M13)

Clean the rear extension housing (1) in a suitable solvent. Air dry the housing.
- Inspect the extension housing for the following:
- Cracks
- Scratches
- Damaged threads
- Burrs
- Nicked mounting surfaces
- Damaged sealing surfaces
- Damaged front or rear bearing bores
- Replace a cracked housing.
- Clean up damaged threads with the correct size thread tap.
- Inspect the machined mating surfaces for flatness. Check the mating surfaces with a straight edge.
- Use a fine mill file to dress minor scratches or burrs.
