Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
  2. Verify the scan tool parameter:
    • {P18C4, P18C5} Gate Select Position Sensor = 10 to 90%
    • {P18C6, P18C7} Gear Shift Position Sensor = 10 to 90%
    • If not between 10 and 90% 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If between 10 and 90% 
  3. Operate the component: Shift Control Lever - Select each position

    Verify the scan tool parameter:

    • {P18C4, P18C5} Gate Select Position Sensor =
      • 11 to 32% - Gear 1, 2
      • 32 to 51% - Gear 3, 4
      • 49 to 71% - Gear 5, 6
      • 67 to 90% - Gear 7, R
    • {P18C6, P18C7} Gear Shift Position Sensor =
      • 65 to 79% - Gear 1, 3, 5, 7
      • 42 to 52% - Neutral 3-4
      • 11 to 29% - Gear 2, 4, 6, R
    • If not the specified values 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the specified values 
  4. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

    Verify the DTC does not set.

    • If the DTC sets 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  5. All OK.
