Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode & Engine - Off
- Verify there are no DTCs set related to the following component/system:
- Camshaft Position Sensor
- Crankshaft Position Sensor
- Clutch Pedal Position Sensor
- Output Shaft Speed Sensor/Vehicle Speed Sensor
- If other DTCs are set
- Go to next step: If no other DTCs are set
WARNING:Road test a vehicle under safe conditions and while obeying all traffic laws. Do not attempt any maneuvers that could jeopardize vehicle control. Failure to adhere to these precautions could lead to serious personal injury and vehicle damage.
- Verify the scan tool parameter: Output Shaft Speed Sensor = The value should change smoothly and gradually as the vehicle speed is increased and decreased.
- If the value does not change smoothly and gradually
Refer to: DTC P0502 or P0503
- Go to next step: If the value changes smoothly and gradually
- If the value does not change smoothly and gradually
- Verify the scan tool parameter: Gear Shift Position = Matches the selector lever position
- If not the specified state
Refer to: DTC P18C4-P18C9
- If not the specified state
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to: Symptoms - Vehicle
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
