Equivalent regional tools: Special Tools
- Install the case extension assembly. Case Extension Assembly Installation
- Install the 1-2-3-4-5 reverse clutch plate assembly. Reaction Internal Gear and 1-2-3-4-5 Reverse Hub and 1-2-3-4-5 Reverse Clutch Plate Assembly Installation
Assemble the tools as shown and apply 80 pounds of pressure to the load gauge by turning the screw on the DT-48056 Spring Compressor Bridge clockwise.
- Zero out the dial indicator.
- Remove the pressure on the load gauge by turning the screw on the DT-48056 Spring Compressor Bridge one full turn counterclockwise.
- Apply 345 kPa (50 psi) of compressed air to the indicated case passage and simultaneously adjust the screw on the DT-48056 Spring Compressor Bridge to apply 80 pounds of pressure to the load gauge.
- Observe the dial indicator measurement. Refer to Clutch Backing Plate Retaining Ring Specifications (8L90) , or Clutch Backing Plate Retaining Ring Specifications (8L45) to determine the correct 1-2-3-4-5 reverse clutch backing plate retaining ring.
CAUTION:
Regulate the air pressure to 345 kPa (50 psi) maximum. High pressure could cause the piston to over travel and damage the piston seals.
