Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the transmission from the vehicle. Transmission Replacement (MM6 with LT1 Engine, MH3 or MJK with LT4 Engine)

    NOTE:

    GE - 23907-1  slide hammer was part of the GE - 23907  slide hammer with bearing adapter set. The adapter is still available as GE - 23907  adapter.

    Remove the clutch pilot bearing using the GE - 23907  adapter (1) and GE - 23907-1  slide hammer (2).

    1. Install the legs of the GE - 23907  adapter (1) into the clutch pilot bearing.
    2. Rotate the shaft of the tool until the legs of the tool are snug and contacting the I.D. surface of the bearing.
    3. Install the GE - 23907-1  slide hammer (2) to the GE - 23907  adapter (1).
    4. Remove the bearing from the rear of the crankshaft.
    5. Remove the special tools from the bearing.

    DISCARD the bearing.
