Removal Procedure
Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution .
- Using a suitable tool, remove and properly discard the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir.
- NOTE:
Place clean shop cloths under the brake master cylinder to absorb brake fluid spills.
Clutch Master Cylinder Feed Hose (1) - Disconnect
- Inspect the clutch master cylinder feed hose seal for damage and correct positioning in the clutch feed hose.
- Cap the clutch master cylinder feed hose to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Cap the master cylinder reservoir clutch feed hose port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Body Control Module Bracket - Remove - Body Control Module Bracket Replacement
Brake Pedal Position Sensor (1) - Remove - Clutch Pedal Position Sensor Replacement
- Disconnect the clutch pedal position sensor electrical connector.
- Release the retainers and position the electrical harness aside.
- NOTE:
Pull the brake pedal rearward to disconnect the brake pedal pushrod retainer.
Brake Pedal (1) - Disconnect
Brake Pedal Pushrod Retainer (1) - Remove and DISCARD
Clutch Master Cylinder Feed Hose Grommet (1) - Release
- NOTE:
Protect the front floor carpet from brake fluid spills.
Hydraulic Clutch Hose/Pipe (2)@Clutch Master Cylinder - Disconnect - Hydraulic Clutch Hose/Pipe Replacement (M13) , or Hydraulic Clutch Hose/Pipe Replacement (MJK, MM6)
- Cap the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe fitting and the clutch master cylinder port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Power Vacuum Brake Booster Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
Brake Pedal Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
Brake and Clutch Pedal Assembly (1) - Remove
Clutch Master Cylinder Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
Clutch Master Cylinder Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
Clutch Master Cylinder Clip (1) - Disconnect
Clutch Pedal Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]
Brake Pedal (1) - Remove
