Removal Procedure

CAUTION:

Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution .

Using a suitable tool, remove and properly discard the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir.

NOTE:
Place clean shop cloths under the brake master cylinder to absorb brake fluid spills.

Clutch Master Cylinder Feed Hose (1) - Disconnect
Inspect the clutch master cylinder feed hose seal for damage and correct positioning in the clutch feed hose.
Cap the clutch master cylinder feed hose to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Cap the master cylinder reservoir clutch feed hose port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

Brake Pedal Position Sensor (1) - Remove - Clutch Pedal Position Sensor Replacement
Disconnect the clutch pedal position sensor electrical connector.
Release the retainers and position the electrical harness aside.

NOTE:
Pull the brake pedal rearward to disconnect the brake pedal pushrod retainer.

Brake Pedal (1) - Disconnect

Brake Pedal Pushrod Retainer (1) - Remove and DISCARD

Clutch Master Cylinder Feed Hose Grommet (1) - Release

NOTE:
Protect the front floor carpet from brake fluid spills.

Hydraulic Clutch Hose/Pipe (2)@Clutch Master Cylinder - Disconnect - Hydraulic Clutch Hose/Pipe Replacement (M13) , or Hydraulic Clutch Hose/Pipe Replacement (MJK, MM6)
Cap the hydraulic clutch hose/pipe fitting and the clutch master cylinder port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
