Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .

Care should be taken to ensure that the floor console fasteners are kept separate from the carrier fasteners.

Remove the front floor console (3). Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement (Cadillac) .

Remove the instrument panel carrier nut (1).
Note location and routing of the instrument panel wiring harness prior to removal of the instrument panel carrier to ensure proper reinstallation.
Remove the data link connector fasteners and position the data link connector out of the way.
Remove the right and left floor flood lamps by gently releasing the tab on the lamp assemblies.
Disconnect the wiring harness from the instrument panel carrier.
With the aid of an assistant, remove the instrument panel carrier (2) from the vehicle.
