Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Drain the transmission fluid. Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill 
  3. Radiator Inlet Hose - Remove - Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7)
  4. Engine Control Module and Electronic Brake Control Module Bracket - Remove - Engine Control Module and Electronic Brake Control Module Bracket Replacement
  5. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement

    Disconnect the control valve body transmission control module electrical connector (1), then unclip the 12 wiring harness retainers (2) from the cover.

    Engine Wiring Harness Bracket Nut (1, 2) - Remove [3x]

  8. Engine Wiring Harness Bracket Bolt (5) - Remove
  9. Engine Wiring Harness Bracket (3, 4) - Remove [2x]
  10. Position ground cable and harness aside.

    Control Valve Body Cover Bolt - Remove [12x]

    Control Valve Body Cover (2) - Remove

  13. Control Valve Body Cover Gasket - Remove and DISCARD
  14. CAUTION:

    Support the control solenoid valve assembly around the connector when removing the seal. Excessive pulling force can damage the internal electrical connections.

  15. Remove the control valve body cover wiring connector hole seal (1).
  16. Remove all traces of the old gasket material. Clean the transmission case and control valve body cover gasket surfaces.
