Installation Procedure

- Check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear:
- Timing chain guides with plastic attachment
- Timing chain tensioner and timing chain tensioner shoe with plastic attachment
- Timing chain and all timing chain sprockets
- Oil pump sprocket
- Oil pump drive chain tensioner
Install the timing chain idler sprocket (2),(3),(4) as an assembly.
- Timing Chain Idler Sprocket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 25 N.m (18 lb ft) [3x]
- Remove the EN-51141 fixing tool (3).
- Install the camshaft timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement .
NOTE:
Before installing the timing chain idler sprocket, check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear.
