Installation Procedure

- Check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear:
- Timing chain guides with plastic attachment
- Timing chain tensioner and timing chain tensioner shoe with plastic attachment
- Timing chain and all timing chain sprockets
- Oil pump sprocket
- Oil pump drive chain tensioner
Install the oil pump drive chain (2) to the oil pump drive chain sprocket (1).
- Install the oil pump sprocket (3) to the oil pump shaft (5).
- Install a NEW oil pump sprocket bolt (4) and tighten in 2 steps:
- Tighten in the first step to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Tighten in the final step to an additional 60 degrees, use the EN-45059 angle meter.

- Install the timing chain lower cover. Refer to Timing Chain Lower Cover Replacement .
NOTE:
Before installing the oil pump drive chain, check the components of the timing chain system for damage and wear.
