Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the intake manifold. Intake Manifold Replacement 
  2. Remove the exhaust manifold. Exhaust Manifold Replacement
  3. Camshaft Sprocket - Remove - Camshaft Sprocket Replacement 
  4. Glow Plug - Remove [4x] - Glow Plug Replacement

    Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  6. Fuel Injection Fuel Rail (2) - Remove

    Remove the EN-51143  fixing tool (1).

    Remove the 4 camshaft bearing rear cap bolts (1).

  9. Camshaft Bearing Rear Cap (2) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Marking the camshaft sprockets.

    Marking the exhaust camshaft sprocket and intake camshaft sprocket with paint marks (1).

    Install the EN-50509  fixing tool (1) to the exhaust camshaft sprocket (2).

    Loosen the 8 intake camshaft bearing cap bolts in sequence as shown.

    Remove the 8 intake camshaft bearing cap bolts (1).

  14. Remove the 4 intake camshaft bearing caps (2) and lay aside in the order as they were removed.

    Intake Camshaft (1) - Remove

    Loosen the 8 exhaust camshaft bearing cap bolts in sequence as shown.

    Remove the 8 exhaust camshaft bearing cap bolts (1).

  18. Remove the 4 exhaust camshaft bearing caps (2) and lay aside in the order as they were removed.

    NOTE:

    Do not remove the EN-50509  fixing tool.

    Exhaust Camshaft (1) - Remove

    Remove the bearing bracket (1).

    Remove the 16 valve lifter with valve lifter roller (1) and lay aside in the order as they was removed.

    Remove the upper timing chain upper guide bolt (2).

  23. Loosen the timing chain upper guide (1) by loosen the lower bolt (3).

    Engine Mount Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

    Remove and DISCARD the 2 outer cylinder head bolts (1).

    Loosen the 10 cylinder head bolts in sequence as shown step by step.

    Cylinder Head Bolt (1) - Remove and DISCARD [10x]

  28. NOTE:

    Ensure the guide sleeves (4) are properly seated in the engine block.

  29. Cylinder Head (2) - Remove
  30. Cylinder Head Gasket (3) - Remove and DISCARD
  31. Disassemble the cylinder head. Cylinder Head Disassemble
