Exhaust Manifold Installation

Re-cut the thread at cylinder head for the 8 exhaust manifold bolts.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Gasket (3) - Install NEW
Install a NEW exhaust manifold gasket. (4)

NOTE:

Do not grab the exhaust manifold during assembly procedure at the EGR pipe as this is a sensitive part.

Exhaust Manifold (1) - Install

NOTE:

Service may offer bolts without micro-encapsulated thread locking adhesive. If this is the case, apply thread locking adhesive to the bolt. Do NOT reuse old bolts.

Exhaust Manifold Bolt (5, 6) - Loosely install [2x] - Use NEW bolts.
Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Bolt (2) - Loosely install [2x] - Use NEW bolts.

Exhaust Manifold Bolt (1, 2) - Loosely install [6x] - Use NEW bolts.

NOTE:
The complete tightening procedure should be completed within 10 minutes.

Exhaust Manifold Bolt - Tighten in sequence [8x]
1. First Pass: 27 N.m (20 lb ft)
2. Second Pass: 27 N.m (20 lb ft)
3. Final Pass: 27 N.m (20 lb ft)
Exhaust Gas Recirculation Pipe Bolt (1) - Tighten [2x] 10 N.m (89 lb in)
