Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify DTC P0046, P0234, P0299, P0651, P226B, P2564, P2565, P2598, P2599 is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- Engine - Idling
- Perform the scan tool control function: Turbocharger Vane Position Actuator - Increase & Decrease
Verify the control rod of the vacuum actuator moves smoothly over the full range.
- If the control rod does not move smoothly over the full range
- Verify the condition does not exist:
- Turbocharger Vane Position Actuator Vacuum Hoses - Kinked/Leaking/Incorrect connection/Restricted
- Turbocharger Vane Position Actuator - Mechanically stuck control rod/Leaking/Visible Damage
- Q41 Turbocharger Vane Position Control Solenoid ValveVacuum Hoses - Kinked/Leaking/Incorrect connection/Restricted
- Q41 Turbocharger Vane Position Control Solenoid Valve - Leaking/Mechanically stuck/Visible Damage
- Turbocharger - Mechanically stuck/Mechanically damaged
- Vacuum Pump - Leaking/Mechanically damaged
- If a condition exists
Repair or replace as necessary.
- Go to next step: If the control rod moves smoothly over the full range
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
- Verify DTC P003A is not set.
- If the DTC sets
Test or replace the component: Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger Replacement
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
