Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
  3. Remove the throttle body assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement .
  4. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation cooler housing. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Housing Replacement .
  5. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement .

    Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum pipe (2) from the power brake booster inlet hose fitting (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

    Remove the power brake booster inlet hose connector fitting (2) from the turbocharger wastegate actuator pipe (1).

    Remove the power brake booster inlet hose connector fitting bracket bolt (3) from the exhaust temperature sensor wiring harness bracket (1).

  9. Remove the 2 power brake booster inlet hose connector fitting bolts (4)
  10. Remove the power brake booster inlet hose from the turbocharger wastegate actuator vacuum control solenoid valve (2).
  11. Remove the power brake booster inlet hose connector fitting bolt (7) from the lower crankcase.
  12. Remove the power brake booster inlet hose bracket bolt (8) from the water outlet.
  13. Remove the power brake booster inlet hose connector fitting (5).
  14. Remove the power brake booster inlet hose connector fitting seal (6).
